A mysterious monolith appears near the Turkish World Heritage Site

ISTANBUL (AP) – Turkish authorities are investigating the appearance of a mysterious monolith in southeastern Turkey.

A farmer found the metal block on Friday in Sanliurfa province with an ancient Turkish script that says “Look at the sky, look at the moon” The monolith, 3 meters high, was discovered near the World Heritage Site of UNESCO called Gobekli Tepe, which has megalithic structures dating back to the 10th millennium BC, thousands of years before Stonehenge.

Turkish media reported on Sunday that gendarmes were watching images of the closed-circuit television and investigating vehicles that may have carried the monolith.

Other mysterious monoliths have appeared and some have disappeared in numerous countries in recent months.
