A woman survives a car accident in front of a cliff, landing on San Francisco beach

The car passed over a cliff at Fort Funston and crashed into the beach.

Fort Funston is a former port defense facility located in southwestern San Francisco and features “200-foot-high sandstone cliffs,” according to the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy.

As white sharks gather in Monterey Bay, scientists are taking the opportunity to study them closely.

It is unclear to what extent the woman fell or what caused the car to come off the cliff.

First responders rescued the woman and took her to a trauma center by ground transportation, firefighters said.

The video of the accident shows a car overturned on the beach. The tide stayed far enough during the rescue so that first responders could rescue the woman and put her on a stretcher, according to an official in the video.

“Please stay away from the vehicle while we work to remove it over the next few days,” the Golden Gate National Park service said on twitter.
