Minutes after the Senate hung up on his appointment as interim secretary of the Department of Education, Jesús González Cruz reiterated his commitment to the public service and assured that he will continue to give the “maximum” of his abilities.
In written statements, the also former Secretary of Correction under the administration of Luis Fortuño Burset said he will continue to work to “achieve the urgent and urgent changes required by our school communities.”

“For seventeen years I have worked in different areas of the public service giving my best in every position I have held and working with integrity in every assignment assigned to the positions I have held,” the official expressed.
“The appointment given to me by the governor is temporary, to give stability and continuity to a broad agenda of work for our schools and public education,” he added.
Once the appointment was hung in the Senate, Governor Pedro Pierluisi Urrutia Urrutia assured that González Cruz would continue in office until he appointed his replacement in office.
“It is to all of them (the school communities) to whom we owe and who should always be our priority,” he concluded.
