Actor Felix Silla, famous for his role as Itt’s cousin in ‘The Addams Family’, dies at the age of 84

Silla died after a battle with pancreatic cancer, his manager Timothy Beal told CNN.

“He was a great friend, a great customer and he will miss you,” Beal said.

His partner and friend from Silla for over 40 years, Gil Gerard confirmed his transfer and has tweeted a tribute. Silla and Gerard were co-stars in the 1979 action film “Buck Rogers in the 25th Century” and often participated in roundtables together at conventions such as Dragon Con.

“Felix died a few hours ago and the only good thing I can get out of his passing is that he didn’t suffer anymore,” Gerard said. “I’m going to miss him terribly, especially the big time we spent on our panels.”

He played the hairy Cousin Itt in “The Addams Family” during his two-season season beginning in 1965. But his career spanned several decades and included roles in “Star Wars: Episode VI – The Return of the Jedi.” 1983, where he played an Ewok and a role in the 1987 film “Spaceballs”, a parody of the Star Wars movies.

The actor did trick work on “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom,” “ET the Alien,” and “Poltergeist.”

Silla was expected to enter hospital care Thursday, according to one previous tweet of Gerard, who said he had spoken briefly with his friend.

Silla is survived by his wife Sue and daughter Bonnie. His son Michael died on March 22, 2020, at the age of 45, according to his publicist Bonnie Vent, who described him as a likeable and humble man.

Silla was 3 feet 11 inches tall and his wife is 4 feet 8 inches tall, Vent said.

“Felix used to tell everyone he was marrying a tall blonde,” Vent said. “He is loved by all who knew him.”
