Disney’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” surpassed $ 90 million in national box office sales over the four-day Labor Day weekend, helping AMC Entertainment shatter its record of tickets for the holidays.

AMC shares jumped around 7% during intraday trading on Tuesday.
Aron pointed to the new Marvel movie “Shang-Chi” as the main walking traffic engine in AMC cinemas over the holiday weekend.
“Shang-Chi” totaled $ 71.4 million in ticket sales on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the second-highest opening during the pandemic, just behind “Black Widow,” which grossed $ 80 million during the his debut in July.
The total box office for the four-day holiday weekend exceeded $ 90 million, almost three times as much as the previous holder of the Labor Day weekend record, which was released in 2007 and collected $ 30.6 million.
