Apple is one step closer to making its rumored folding iPhone a reality.
The Cupertino-based tech giant, based in California, reportedly asked manufacturer Foxconn to create two prototypes to test possible future iPhone designs.
According to Tom’s Guide, the two designs will be very different, with one with a large screen that folds in half, while the other is two separate screens joined by a hinge.
It’s unclear if Apple plans to pull out a couple of foldable phones or if it’s experimenting to find the best design.
The report comes in light of an Apple patent application released last week for an ultra-flexible phone with a screen that can be folded in and out.
Apple has recently launched its new family of iPhones, including its smallest iPhone in recent years, the 12 Mini.
