New superhero recruits will be able to experience Disneyland’s Avenger Campus on June 4, Disney said during an online theme park broadcast Thursday.
The new area is an extension of Disney’s California Adventure theme park in Anaheim, California, and features the most powerful Marvel heroes on Earth and stars.
“What I can tell you is that it’s amazing,” Josh D’Amaro told CNBC before the Internet broadcast. “I think it will be an amazing addition to California Adventure. If you think about it [Marvel Cinematic Universe] and what’s happening on that front, as recently as “WandaVision,” is hot. It’s a hot franchise. And now we have the ability to open this thing to the world. “
The park was originally scheduled to open in July last year, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, California theme parks have been closed since March 2020.
The two Disney parks in Anaheim will reopen on April 30 and will operate at around 15% of their initial capacity.

The new land has replaced AA Bug’s Land and includes the pre-existing Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission: Walk along the edge of Hollywood Land. It will also feature a new Spider-Man attraction, a dining venue called Pym Particles Test Kitchen and an area based on Dr. Strange.
“We have the best playground for Marvel,” D’Amaro said. “As fast as Kevin [Feige] and that the Marvel team can create characters and create stories, we can integrate them. “

Disney has already mocked that the Spider-Man trip will be based on the World Engineering Brigade, also known as WEB, a company that helps equip ordinary people with superpowers. The attraction offers guests the chance to try out their webslinger vehicle. While driving the vehicle, the little spiders are released and the pilots have to start them with their new launching powers on the net.
Character encounters will be an important part of Avengers Campus. Thor, Black Panther, Black Widow and many more will walk the earth; visitors could also spot the Loki cheater.

D’Amaro sparked “innovative” entertainment and technological innovation, including the potential of the company’s stuntronics technology to show off on the ground. Stuntronics is a project that Disney reopened the curtain in 2018. In essence, Disney’s Imagingering development team and lab have created a robot that can swing and launch itself into the air as a real person.
In this case, the robot may look like the friendly neighborhood of Marvel Spider-Man.
“There will only be a few shows,” D’Amaro said. “There will only be things you can’t believe are happening right in front of your eyes.”
