In a court file obtained Tuesday by CNN, Major Spears cited his daughter’s petitions in two separate court hearings over the summer in his request to end the 13-year-old conservatory.
“Recent events related to this conservatory have cast doubt on whether circumstances have changed to such an extent that there may be no reason to establish a conservatory,” the presentation states.
“Ms Spears has told this court she wants to control her life without the safety rails of a conservatory. She wants to be able to make decisions about her own medical care, deciding when, where and how often to get therapy. she wants to control the money she has earned from her career and spend it without supervision or supervision. She wants to get married and have a baby, if she so desires. In short, she wants to live her life as she decides without the restrictions of a judicial or conservative proceeding, ”the petition says in part.
“As Mr. Spears has said over and over again, everything he wants is best for his daughter. If Mrs. Spears wants to end the conservatory and thinks she can manage her own life, Mr. Spears believes that I should get this by chance, ”the archive said.
Britney Spears’ attorney Mathew Rosengart called Tuesday’s development a “claim.”
“This presentation represents another legal victory for Britney Spears (a big one), as well as a claim for Ms. Spears,” Rosengart said in a statement to CNN. “It appears Mr Spears believes he may try to avoid accountability and justice, including sitting down for an affidavit and responding to another discovery under oath.”
Rosengart added that Britney Spears “will continue to explore all options.”
Spears has served as curator of his daughter’s estate since it was founded in 2009. He was also the curator of his person, overseeing medical and health issues until he retired in 2019. That was when Jodi Montgomery was named temporary curator of Spears Person.
During a hearing in July, Britney Spears said she wanted to file charges against her father for “conservative abuse” and called the deal “cruel.”
Last week, Rosengart asked Spears to do so immediately “before he is suspended.”
A hearing scheduled for the case is set for Sept. 29.
An earlier version of this story claimed that the court file was obtained on Wednesday. It has been corrected to state that it was obtained on Tuesday.
