BTS enters the Guinness World Records 2022 Hall of Fame

BTS has some news on “Dynamite”.

But before the fans of the K-Pop band take to the streets, no, their tour doesn’t start again.

Instead, the group is included in the Guinness World Records 2022 Hall of Fame with an impressive 23 albums thanks to their success on many topics, from “Butter” to “Mic Drop”.

“BTS has collected 23 impressive Guinness World Records titles through music and social media, a surprising result also achieved thanks to the enthusiasm of its fans, ARMY,” Guinness World Records said in a statement on Thursday. “As for his ability to have fun, surprise and communicate through musical and dance moves, as well as his dedication to breaking records … this is certainly what marks BTS as the perfect fit for at our 2022 Hall of Fame “.

According to Guinness, the children’s band set 11 of those 23 world records last year alone. In May 2021, his hit “Butter” achieved five solo albums, including the most popular track on Spotify in the first 24 hours (11 million), most viewers for the premiere of a video clip on YouTube (3.9 million)), the most watched music video in 24 hours (108 million) and more.

In addition to these impressive musical accolades, BTS is also the most-broadcast group on Spotify (surpassing the British band Coldplay) and the most followed music group on Instagram, according to Guinness World Records.

But the announcement also made sure to mention the impact of the children’s band on international society and culture.

“Despite their young age, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook have left their mark on the current cultural landscape, freeing themselves from the limitations of their national market and a language, the South Korea, which remains largely unknown to the international public, “Guinness World Records said.

Sharing South Korean culture with the rest of the world is a goal that members of BTS, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook had from the beginning.

In an interview with Billboard in September 2020, RM, a member of BTS, said, “I think from a cultural perspective, I think it’s very important to be familiar. So first we think … that for many Americans (they weren’t) familiar with us (they seem different to us, we sing), we have different choreographies, music videos, like everything, even lifestyle. But I think as time goes on, we’re doing these shows, songs, concerts and awards, I think a lot of people in the American music market are getting closer (to us). I think it’s very good and that’s what we really wanted. “

In addition to its 23 albums and its incorporation into the Hall of Fame, BTS will also receive two pages in the upcoming Guinness World Records 2022 print book.

It’s safe to say that BTS is “soft as butter” and “will attract you like no other”.
