Chili’s honors viral video star Adam Perkins with his twin

The Chili restaurant chain went to its official Twitter on Wednesday to lament the passing of Vine star Adam Perkins, who famously parodied the restaurant in his viral video sketch “Welcome to Chili’s.”

“We are saddened by the news of Adam Perkins’ passing,” has tweeted the Texas-based restaurant group Wednesday of the death of the Boston-born influencer. “It made so many of us laugh and will always be remembered and loved. Rest in peace, Adam. “

Her family soon discovered that not all social media presences would be so respectful.

Adam’s twin, Patrick Perkins, first announced via Instagram on Tuesday that his 24-year-old brother had died on April 11, but chose not to reveal the cause of death.

Chili’s also shared with his 405,700 followers an emotional TikTok montage compiled by Patrick, depicting the late star cutting his hair, petting a dog and other sincere snapshots of his life.

Patrick subtitled the poignant montage: “Adam Perkins 1997 – Forever Forever. I love you, my brother. Forever.”

This followed a series of acclaimed tributes from various friends and admirers, including the Instagram icon and in fluencer Amanda Cerny and Adam’s ex-boyfriend, Kelton Elliot.

Unfortunately, while most fans paid respectful tribute, others repeatedly annoyed Patrick about how Adam had died.

The protective brother of the late viral video star quickly closed the indiscreet posters. “Think I need to take this opportunity to tell you something: if the cause of death is not released, there is a reason,” he wrote to his 64,700 followers in the Gram.

Patrick added: “There is intention in every part of this. Please respect us both without asking this question … I’m not sure how obvious it is not to say it for a reason. All in this is intentional. Respect it. “

Adam first drew attention online with the aforementioned “Welcome to Chili’s” version in 2015 on the now defunct Vine platform, in which he draws the iconic motto of the restaurant chain while he was at his boxers.

The viral clip accumulated more than 20 million loops in one year and generated multiple parodies and remixes.

He went on to create a series of fun videos in the video sharing app and popularized the hashtag #whiteteen.

By the time Vine was damaged, Perkins had amassed 290,000 followers.

A talented musician, the polyglot graduated from NYU with a bachelor’s degree in music composition and left his first album, “Latch Relay,” in 2018 under the name Plas Teg.
