America got the double match it never knew it wanted on Sunday’s “American Idol”.
Claudia Conway returned to Hollywood week after a shaky audition and her mother, former Trump White House adviser Kellyanne Conway, participated with an impromptu chorus of “Girl On Fire”.
The 16-year-old Conway reappeared with dark locks and the decision to take Judge Katy Perry’s advice to “calm the storm” around her. Conway has gained popularity on TikTok amid a controversial relationship with his mother, who left his White House last summer to focus on family. His father, lawyer George Conway of the anti-Trump Lincoln Project, also took a break from his work. (He accompanied Claudia to the audition that aired in February).
This time, the teenager sang a useful version of Bishop Briggs’ “River” and waited for his fate on a line of hopeful others. Perry informed them that they were all advancing, and Kellyanne Conway shouted, “Claudia, what!”
Backstage, Conway hugged his daughter and sang “This girl is on fire, this girl is on fire.”
