Corsicana, TX, the tornado hits when the storm system moves toward the Gulf Coast

The Office of Emergency Management posted on its Instagram page that the affected area is about 100 meters wide and 600 meters long. At least 13 mobile homes were damaged, but no injuries were reported at this time, the office said.

They also said several trees were broken and two houses were damaged due to falling trees, they said.

The Dallas National Weather Service confirmed a tornado in Corsicana, probably of EF0 intensity on the improved Fujita scale, with winds of 65 to 85 mph.

Corsicana is located about 50 miles southeast of Dallas.

Snow, ice and flooding were also expected throughout Texas and Oklahoma

In addition to the severe storm, snow, ice and rain are expected in the region over the next few days.

About eight million are at risk of snow and ice in western Texas and western Oklahoma through Thursday evening. Accumulations could reach more than a foot in west Texas and at least 6 inches west of Oklahoma and Kansas.

Up to a quarter of an inch of ice is possible and possibly more for parts of North Texas, central Oklahoma, eastern Kansas and northern Missouri.

On the warm side of the storm, flood rain is expected in Arkansas, Texas and Louisiana through Friday, with rain ranging from 3 to 6 inches.

There is growing concern about the possibility of tornadoes and wind damage starting Thursday afternoon and happening from midnight as the New Year dawns. About 18 million are at risk of severe weather.
