“Cyberbunk” is a cyberfunk.
The developer behind “Cyberbunk 2077” is getting a refund for the blockbuster video game amid outrage over its poor performance on older consoles.
Developer, C.D. Project Red apologized on Monday for the errors that plagued the future roll-flaming game from last week’s much-anticipated release and upset some gamers after eight years of exaggeration.
The Polish company acknowledged that it should have “paid more attention” to improving the game’s poor performance on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles, prompting players to complain on Twitter that it was “completely broken” and “shockingly disappointing.”
While reviews indicate that it works better on open world gaming PCs and the new PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X systems, gamers have shared videos of various flaws on older Sony and Microsoft consoles, such as driving through walls, blurred characters faces and dull graphics.
“We would like to start by apologizing to you for not showing the basics on the last gen consoles before screening the game. As a result, we did not allow you to make a more informed decision about your purchase.” CD Project Red said in a statement.
The company has promised to fix “the most critical issues” with two major patches for the game, which will be released in January and February – but tired players who are tired of waiting can get their money back.
“We appreciate it if you give us a chance, but if you’re not happy with the game on your console and do not want to wait for updates, you can choose to return your copy,” said CD Project Red.
The developer said players who bought their copies digitally would have to withdraw money through Sony’s PlayStation Network or Microsoft’s Xbox Store, while those who bought a copy of the copy would have to go to the store where they bought it.
It has been more than eight years since the release of “Cyberbunk 2077” game, and there have been several delays in its official release, which was originally scheduled for April.
CD Project Red co-CEO Adam Kisiyski said in a revenue call last month that issues with the PS4 and Xbox One consoles had surfaced, acknowledging that the game’s performance was “surprisingly better” on older computers, but was as strong as pro versions of the consoles.
