KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs, on the eve of Super Bowl LV, made a large number of list moves, including activating the Daniel Kilgore backup center from the backup list / COVID-19.
Kilgore is eligible to play Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He had been included on the reserve list and had not been able to practice with the bosses this week after having been in close contact with a barber who tested positive for COVID-19.
Kilgore went through Saturday’s walk with the Chiefs before heading to Tampa, Florida.
All COVID-19 testing for the Chiefs and Buccaneers turned negative on Saturday, sources in ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported. Teams will try again on Sunday, and the results will usually be known later in the evening.
The Chiefs also activated closed reserve Deon Yelder from the injured reserve and promoted three players from the training squad, including quarterback Matt Moore. In addition to Moore, defensive back Chris Lammons and wide receiver Marcus Kemp were elevated from the training squad.
Kansas City also placed injured Eric Fisher and winger Willie Gay on reserve. Neither practiced this week and the Chiefs declared them in the Super Bowl for their final injury report of the week.
