This is not your grandmother’s Cruella de Vil.
Social media is full of new details about the long-awaited “Cruella”, Disney’s latest live adaptation of the animated classic “101 Dalmatians”, especially thanks to the fierce transformation of Emma Stone as a nefarious fashionista with a tendency to spotted dogs.
“Hello, cruel world,” said Disney, in a tweet announcing that a trailer for “Cruella” will be released tomorrow. A new poster for the film includes a close-up of the smoky 32-year-old Stone, in black and white, in a style reminiscent of the glam-punk days of Madonna or the icon of rock opera Dr. Frank-N-Furter from “Rocky Horror Picture Show.”
In a 2019 promotional image for the film, which will tell the story of Cruella and set in the 1970s, Stone dresses to kill with leather, straps and the character’s iconic black-and-white mane, and fans have been asking for more Since then.
The moment also provided some fans with a chance to praise Glenn Close, who thousands of fans on Twitter agree was “really perfect” as Cruella in the 1996 remake of the original cartoon film.
Others had tips on Disney before the trailer was released.

The police comedy, which will be presented in May, was directed by “I, Tonya” director Craig Gillespie, and also stars Emma Thompson and Paul Walter Hauser (“I, Tonya”) in still-named roles. It follows the story of the young fashion designer Estella de Vil and as she takes advantage of her obsession with dog skins, earning her the nickname Cruella.
