LONDON (AP) – Google users in the US, Europe, India and the rest of the world will not be able to access their Gmail accounts, watch YouTube videos or access documents online.

“We know an issue that affects the majority of Gmail users,” a status update on the Google Dashboard said, followed by another message that the service had been restored to some users. “We expect a resolution for all users in the future.”

Downtector, which monitors website crashes, has been reported to have affected users worldwide, but was particularly prevalent in the Northeastern United States, the United Kingdom and other parts of Europe. Japan, Malaysia and India were also the worst hit.
