Google is experiencing widespread downtime on YouTube and Gmail offline

Google suffered a global crash on Monday, which took a number of services off YouTube, Gmail and Google Drive offline.

Service has been reset for some users.

Many on social media have reported issues with the sites, with Gmail, YouTube and Google Drive all showing error messages without further explanation.

According to Down Detector, the site, which coordinates reports of online service crashes, said problems at the sites escalated around 6:30 p.m.

Google later confirmed the crash, and its workstation panel showed all of its services – including its calendar and video-conferencing applications.

YouTube has confirmed that many of its users are having problems accessing the site.

“Our team knows and sees it,” the group’s YouTube account tweeted. “We’ll update you here as soon as we get more news.”

“The service for some users has already been restored, and we expect a resolution for all users in the future,” Google said Monday morning. “Please note that this duration is an estimate and may change.”

Some of the largest companies in the United States rely on Google services, including Uber, Netflix and Twitter.
