Not only does the Capitol have a large debt to the Electricity Authority (AEE) in Puerto Rico, it is joined by other government agencies and several mayors of the island, as confirmed today by an official of the agency.
In a radio interview (Note A 630), customer service director Noriette Figueroa indicated that between government corporations, mayors and the Capitol they have a debt of $ 245 million with the EEA.
“Government debt with Electricity is about $ 245 million,” the official said in the interview.
Yesterday the President of the House of Representatives, Rafael “Tatito” Hernandez, expressed that the Superintendence of the Capitol has not paid for the service of electric light for the past four years.
The new chamber leader indicated that he will need to make a payment plan to cover this debt which, according to him, exceeds $ 2 million.
