This is what is happening in the world of television for Thursday, February 18th. All hours are Eastern.
Top choice
It is a sin (HBO Max, 3:01 am, full limited series): It’s hard here / here, what about the pandemic and a seriously gnarled winter weather and God knows what else, there will probably be more murder evenings at some point, anything happens today. As such, we are aware that, for many of you, the phrase “British limited series on the AIDS crisis” may make you laugh It is a sin in the stack maybe-later-now-too-heavy. Please reconsider! The last of Russell T. Davies —de Doctor Who, yes, but also A very English scandal, the original With a lot of pen, Cucumber, Banana, i Tofu, the list goes on, follows a group of friends whose lives are deeply affected by AIDS and the failures of the government’s response to the crisis, but it seems equally jubilant and heavy. Judging by the response from the British public (it premiered there in January), this one should not be missed. Look for Danette Chavez’s review later today.
Regular coverage
Mr. Major (NBC, 8 p.m.)
Clarice (CBS, 10 p.m.)
Bedside tables
Archibald’s next great event (Peacock, 3:01 am, first full season): A creation of Tony Hale (who, not surprisingly, also appears in Hale in the cast), this DreamWorks series follows a chick who wants to have great adventures and makes some questionable decisions along the way. The voice cast also includes Rosamund Pike, Adam Pally and Casey Wilson.
So spoke Kishibe Rohan (Netflix, 3:01 am, first full season): This four-episode adaptation of the manga series of the same name by Hirohiko Araki, in itself a derivation of The diamond is unbreakable, the fourth installment of the acclaimed Araki JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, arrives in the United States today. It looks wild.
