How To Massively Delete Emails In Gmail

I recently received a notification stating that my Gmail account was 90% full. I thought it was like that impossible since Gmail must have unlimited space. Then I remembered that I had the account since 2008 and that I never deleted old and unnecessary emails. If you are on the same boat (getting fuller), here are the steps fordelete old Gmail emails.

In the top search bar, type “Tag: All Mail” isSearch options filters will appear below the search bar. You can use theseto filter emails by time periods (in my case, anything before 2014, as life didn’t start until the mid-20s), some senders (like newsletter or organization of which you are no longer a member), or anything with attachments (to delete this valuable storage space).

Once the settings have been reduced, click on the t boxop left left to select all emails displayed. In case you have more than 50 emails (which you will have), click “select all conversations that match this search” to not delete the emails that appear on the first results page. Then click on the trash can icon.

Gmail will keep items in the trash for 30 days before permanently deleting them. If you need the space first, you can go to the Trash folder and delete all items forever.
