Kanye West returns home.
The controversial rapper is still working on his long-awaited new album, “Donda,” inspired by his late mother and possibly his kindergarten in Chicago.
Over the weekend, the 44-year-old hip-hop pioneer sent fans a cryptic joke from the house as Donda’s long-awaited release appears, hinting at what fans can expect when it comes to of his next music.
The Grammy winner has been removed all of his past Instagram photos centered around the new album to share just one image with his 7.4 million followers – from the house where he grew up.
The post now has more than 1.5 million likes and nearly 40,000 comments from die-hard fans, and The Post has tracked interior images of the property in the South Shore neighborhood.
The 1,600-square-foot home has changed hands several times since it was last owned by West’s mother more than 18 years ago when it sold for $ 121,000 in 2003, according to property records.

West lived in the house for eight years of his childhood, according to his mother’s 2007 memoir, “Raising Kanye: Life Lessons From the Mother of a Hip-Hop Superstar.”
“I didn’t know it, but South Shore, and especially South Shore Drive, where we lived, was considered” the sh -, “a prestigious area in a coveted part of the city,” he wrote at the time. “We were within walking distance of Lake Michigan and our backyard went back to Rainbow Park. It’s in the kitchen of that house that Kanye talks about kneeling on the floor and saying, “Mom, I’ll love you until you get hurt.”

Over the past two decades, the house has gone into foreclosure and languished, even when it appeared in a 2018 episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians”.
In 2011, even a camera crew followed West while visiting the house with Jay-Z.
Initially built in 1905, the house is located on a plot of 7,000 square meters and consists of three bedrooms and a bathroom.

Donda sold the house after her son had a second place with some boys in Rainbow Beach Park, who demanded his bike and then cut his tires when he refused to leave it.
“Tell him you want black or whatever, he was ready,” Donda wrote. “What if the next step was to hire him for a gang or something? I didn’t have it. It didn’t take him long to find the house on the blue island. ”
The house sold out less than a year before Kanye released his debut studio album, “The College Dropout.”

Her mother died five years later after undergoing cosmetic surgery.
In 2013, West launched Donda’s House with co-founder Rhymefest, a nonprofit youth arts organization. Donda’s House would buy the South Shore house in 2016 to turn it into a community arts incubator. But the organization said the house had to be demolished in 2017 because it suffered “significant structural damage.” The homes had already gone through a foreclosure in previous years.

After some controversy with the organization, Kanye officially bought the house for $ 225,000 with plans to renovate it in 2019 under his LLC, Donda Services.
Shortly afterwards, the city took note of the South Shore house and filed a lawsuit for demolition in January 2019. The July 2018 report found roof damage, lack of siding and problems with the stairs, including other alleged problems.

But luckily, the city approved a permit in October 2019 to replace the roof; a permit in November 2019 to fix electrical wiring and a renewal permit in April 2020, almost two months after the shutdown order was issued.
While the house continues to be renovated, Kanye is still working on the album.

Earlier this month, the star played live another “Donda” listening party from Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, but the album has yet to hit streaming services.
At his first listening party last month, Kanye was thrilled when he performed one of his songs from the album – “Love Unconditionally” – crying while shaving about “losing my family.”

But fans can’t hold their breath, including the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Tinashe’s Swimsuit, the planned new album, “333,” actually dropped in time.
“I’ve been a fan of Kanye in the past,” he previously told The Post, “but I’m definitely not a fan of some of the decisions he’s made throughout his career. new album, because if there’s one thing Kanye does, it’s okay.
“So I’m interested in receiving his art as long as he’s ready to give it to us,” he said.
The Post has contacted West representatives for comment.
