Jason Sudeikis, the long-awaited hooded sweetheart of this year’s awards season, continued his charming offense at the Critics Choice Awards, where he gave a sweet shout out to former Olivia Wilde.
After a strong presentation at last week’s Golden Globes, Apple TV + series “Ted Lasso” picked up a few more awards at the annual Sunday night 26 ceremony, with Sudeikis taking home the trophies for best actor in a comedy series and best comedy series.
Accepting the latter award with a hooded sweatshirt, Sudeikis corrected his Globes speech, a little rambling, with a handful of direct thanks to the cast and crew of the show before addressing his ex and his two children, Otis , 6, and Daisy, 4.
“I want to thank my children, Otis and Daisy. I want to thank her mother, Otis and Daisy’s mother, Olivia, who had the initial idea of this as a TV show, ”Sudeikis said in her acceptance speech.“ She was like : “You and Brendan [Hunt] and Joe [Kelly] how to do so much, you should do it like a movie or a TV show. He told me, “No.” He was right.
Before closing the session, Sudeikis explained why “Ted Lasso,” who is filming his second season in London, has been a welcome relief in this “ass year.”
“This thing has been a wonderful boat to hear people’s stories of forgiveness and redemption, healing and understanding,” he shared. “It’s very flattering to have the opportunity to share something … that means something to you. You know that means a lot to us.”
After the ceremony, Wilde returned the favor, celebrating the victory on social media, while making a special mention of his bold awards attire.
“Congratulations to Jason and the whole Ted Lasso family for your @CriticsChoice victory. So happy for you guys,” he said he tweeted. “I hope that means we all keep wearing hoodies when the ceremonies are face-to-face next year. 🙌”
Sudeikis and Wilde followed separate paths in early 2020 and ended their engagement after nine years together, People reported in November.
Since they stopped smoking, the two have apparently managed to remain friendly and are committed to co-sponsoring their two children. Both parties would have continued, as Wilde had recently started dating Harry Styles after the couple hit the set of their upcoming film “Don’t Worry Darling”, while Sudeikis has been linked to British model Keeley. Hazell.
In an abrupt post about her work on the film last month, Wilde made her first public comment about the singer since her romance hit headlines, writing that she “flew us every day” in the set.
Meanwhile, Sudeikis has remained silent about his new romance.
