Jessica Biel joins her husband, Justin Timberlake, as the pop star has apologized to both Britney Spears and Janet Jackson this week.
The “Forest Man” artist took to Instagram on Friday in response to the reaction received after the release of the New York Times document, “Framing Britney Spears,” apologizing to the two women for their role in when it comes to breaking his careers and contributing to public embarrassment the “Glory” singer.
“I love you. [heart emoji]Biel commented in his message, in which Timberlake stated, “I deeply regret the time in my life when my actions contributed to the problem, where I spoke out of turn or I did not talk about what was right. I understand that I fell short at these times and many others and benefited from a system that forgives misogyny and racism.
“I specifically want to apologize to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson individually,” he continued, “because I care for and respect these women and I know I failed. I also feel compelled to respond, in part, because everyone involved deserves better and the more important, because this is a broader conversation of which I want, wholeheartedly, to be a part and grow ”.
“Framing Britney Spears” briefly touches on Spears ’youthful romance with the NSYNC star in the early 2000s and its aftermath, which included allegations that Spears cheated on Timberlake.
Timberlake fed the narrative with the video for her 2002 song “Cry Me A River,” which featured a blonde actress, who looks like Spears, sneaking into her back.
Biel and Timberlake were married in 2012 and share children Silas, 5, and Phineas, 1.
