The representative of the precinct 3 of San Juan, by the New Progressive Party (PNP), Juan Oscar Morales cataloged like a “rebequeria” the demand presented / displayed by his opponent of the Movement Citizen Victory (MVC) that demands a new election for alleged irregularities in the process of advanced voting of the contest.
“It seems to me a rebuke again of Mrs. Prats and Manuel Natal, who in the face of the lack of votes resort to commotion, in the absence of a constitutional mandate of the people they resort to this type of demand, which is a demand without fundamentals “, he expressed in an interview with Ràdio Illa 1320.
Morales has pointed out that in the lawsuit of Prats it is alleged that some of the voters of a residence in Rio Pedres did not have to vote for the place. However, the representative indicates that there is a nursing home in this residence and that these citizens do have the right to claim the advance vote. Similarly, the neo-progressive assures that Prats does not present any evidence of fraud in the legal appeal.
“There is not a single piece of evidence in this lawsuit that there was fraud, quite the contrary, I believe the fraud is being committed by Ms. Prats,” Juan Oscar Morales added.
Yesterday, the lawyer Eva Prats Rodríguez, candidate of the Moviment Victòria Ciutadana to represent the Representative District 3 of San Juan, has today filed a lawsuit against the results of the State Election Commission (EEC ), which certified Juan Oscar Morales as the winner of the election.
The petition, filed both in the Court of First Instance and before the House of Representatives in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and the Electoral Code of the year 2020, requests the holding of a new election in the face of the impossibility of generating a reliable and accurate result.
“In our petition we presented eight (8) causes of challenge to the legality, performance and certainty of the votes reported for the modalities of advanced voting and absent voting. If successful, the challenges would change the results of the general election in Representative District 3 “, said Prats Rodríguez.
Related note:
On the one hand, the lawsuit challenges the validity and legality of about 200 legislative ballots for alleged fraud findings prima facie, As it ensures that they do not square with the number of validly registered voters or were issued in violation of the laws and regulations for the advanced voting of this representative district.
