Britney Spears fans bring Justin Timberlake to work after releasing a new documentary about the “Toxic” singer.
“Framing Britney Spears,” a New York Times documentary, details Spears ’life in the spotlight, including mental health struggles and a conservatory run by his father Jamie. Part of the fascinating documentary focuses on Spears’ youthful romance with the NSYNC star in the early 2000s, and subsequent sequels, which included allegations that Spears cheated on Timberlake.
Timberlake fed the narrative with the video for her 2002 song “Cry Me A River,” which featured a blonde actress, who looks like Spears, sneaking into her back.
Diane Sawyer then fanned the flames when she interviewed Spears in 2003 and made the then 22-year-old cry.
“You broke his heart, you did something that caused him so much pain, so much suffering. What did you do? ”Sawyer threw a shot at Mars with Spears.
Fans immediately turned to Twitter to call Timberlake after the document was withdrawn.
“Justin Timberlake needs to prepare his apologies …” one person wrote, while another pointed out, “Watching Framing Britney Spears is a pretty easy way to feel angry about misogyny, Justin Timberlake, and for the way we scrape all the girls and young people in the spotlight above the coals! ”
“Twenty-five minutes into the nyt britney paper and ready to slowly pull out each of Justin Timberlake’s teeth with a wrench,” another angry noted.
The film follows the ongoing #FreeBritney campaign, a move led by ardent fans of the singer, Britney’s Army, who believe her father is allegedly being controlled by her father against her will. They have held protests and made the cause known on social media.
And now celebrities are also expressing their support for Spears after the film’s release.
Sarah Jessica Parker and Better Midler both he tweeted, “#FreeBritney. Khloé Kardashian has tweeted his support, calling Spears “Queen Britney.” Valerie Bertinelli defined the documentary as a “punch” and noted that there were “so many horrible men / leeches in her life,” including “Justin Timberlake.”
And Miley Cyrus he called for her support during his “TikTok Tailgate” performance in front of the Super Bowl. The “Wrecking Ball” singer added Spears’ name to the lyrics of “Party in the USA” and said to the audience, “We love Britney.”
The pop princess is currently caught up in a legal battle with her father, who has been the custodian of her daughter’s finances for more than a decade.
At a court hearing last year, Spears’ attorney, Samuel D. Ingham III, claimed that the “I’m a 4 U Slave” singer had been afraid of his father and wanted to dismiss him completely for his conservatory after allegedly hired a new manager without consulting her.
The next court date on the battle for conservatism is February 11th.
