Comedian Kate Quigley, who barely survived a holiday overdose that killed three friends a week ago, says the tragedy “changes her forever.”
“All I can say is: tell your people that you love them every day. Take care of yourself. And please don’t take life for granted. I did it and I will never do it again “, he wrote in a post on Instagram.
Quigley was with Fuquan Johnson, 42; Enrico Colangeli, 48; and Natalie Williamson, 33, in Venice Beach on Sept. 4, reportedly consuming cocaine that could have been linked to the painkiller fentanyl.
Only Quigley could be saved. She was taken to hospital in critical condition. A day later, her mother said in a Facebook post that she could not remain “lucid more than one moment at a time.”
On Thursday, the comic and the standing actress released a brief update, thanking the support of her friends and fans.
“I am still healing physically and mentally. But reading all these positive messages from your men makes me cry every night, ”he wrote.
Finally, Saturday at his hospital home, Quigley said in a new message that he had had the “time and clarity” to address the incident more thoroughly.
“I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of kind messages and I am incredibly grateful to be surrounded by a strong community of friends, family, colleagues and fans who have offered their support during this time; paramedics, nurses and doctors who saved my life, ”he wrote.
“Words cannot describe the pain I feel,” he continued, paying tribute to the victims.
“Fu was a generous and loving soul. He was hilarious, supportive and incredibly authentic with the most contagious spirit, “he wrote of Johnson, who was a Los Angeles circuit player.
“Rico was always full of enthusiasm,” he said of Colangeli, another local comic. He added that his friend Williamson “was so kind and endearing”.
“Everyone left an indelible mark on my life and that of their loved ones. I will miss them. “
Quigley, who hosts a podcast, did not discuss the details of the match or the overdose, adding: “There are so many more things I want to say, but I’m not ready. When it is, I will do it ”.
The LAPD has not said whether it has opened a criminal case for overdoses.
