The main strengths surrounding the widest version of Lucid Air, the Dream Edition, have long been around: 1,080 power, over 500 miles in a single charge and 0-60 MPH in two and a half seconds. But the sedan has been delayed a few times and deliveries have changed until the end of this year. Lucid, meanwhile, has had to tweak those estimates a bit, though the changes are so minimal that I don’t think anyone cares much.
It turns out that Lucid cannot guarantee that power i in the same vehicle, so it will offer Air Dream Edition booking holders an option. The Air Dream Edition P, for performance, will produce 1,111 horsepower to penalize efficiency, though Lucid doesn’t say how far that penalty will be. The Air Dream Edition R, for Range, will exceed 933 hp and the company hopes it can reach that 500-mile goal, and then some.
It’s a distinction I’m not entirely sure Lucid has to make for her clients, but she’s gone ahead and made it anyway because the numbers are all in the EV arms race. The P and R models cost the same, at a “fully equipped price of $ 169,000.” Diu Lucid it will soon reach potential customers about their preferences.
Now, whenever a manufacturer adjusts figures like these just before releasing a vehicle, there will be some skepticism. But either way, it doesn’t sound like a major loss. I mean, the Range One still has almost 1,000 horsepower. For reference, the file Tesla Model S Plaid it has 1,020 hp and can travel 396 miles charged. On the other hand, Air Dream Edition costs $ 40,000 more than the Plaid.
And just in case you think the projected range of the Air is literally a dream, that of Motor Trend Jonny Lieberman he recently drove one of the Range models from Los Angeles to San Francisco, alongside Lucid CEO Peter Rawlinson, in his own car. It’s a good review and you should check it out. The voyage was 409 miles long; adding at a stop at Lucid’s headquarters in Newark, California, Lieberman said that given the estimated remaining range, his car “had the potential to travel 475 miles, while Rawlinson could have traveled 517 miles.”

Aside from the power and full range differences, the two versions of the Dream Edition are all-wheel drive with dual engine and a top speed limited to 168 MPH. The range runs on 245-wide tires and 19-inch wheels from the factory, while the Performance changes the rear for 265-wide tires and 21-inch sports wheels. The 2.5-second time from 0 to 60 MPH still represents performance, while the range is cited at 2.7 seconds.
