With her eyes soaked with tears and pointing with her index finger at the sky, as a sign of gratitude to God, Luciana Martínez reacted to being named one of the 20 semifinalists of the Miss Grand International, the contest of beauty made in Thailand.
The 21-year-old, originally from Santa Anna, was swollen with emotion when she heard the presenter mention the name of the Savior so that she could take a few steps to the front to occupy one of the spaces of the 20 classified candidates.

After this emotional moment, Luciana had the opportunity to parade in a bathing suit. However, the presenter announced that in this dozen candidates would be the participant who was chosen by popular vote of the public. Surprisingly who was called was the representative of Malaysia, a candidate who was not nominated among the top 20 and did not parade in a swimsuit with the others.
“It’s unfair. It’s not worth putting someone in the top ten just because he had a lot of likes on social media. This place was Luciana’s,” said Ronald Cerón, a “missologist.”
