When the Cannes Film Festival began to emerge about Adam Driver’s new film Annette and Marion Cotillard’s new film, it was a bit outlandish. Driver, the critic said, had a scene in the musical distributed by Amazon Prime where he sang while “going to the center” in Cotillard, so to speak. Scene coverage, including ours, made it sound so off the wall that it might be reason enough to watch the movie.
Even Cotillard seemed surprised by the reaction when we asked him in a recent video interview, which you can see below. “A lot of things are very special in this movie,” he says. “I lived that experience doing things I had never done before and that I will probably never do again.” Cotillard says this is mainly due to the unoriginal style director Leos Carax, noting: “You never know what to expect. All you know is that it will surprise you. “
Cotillard also seemed surprised by the quality of the worms in the ears of the film, saying his duet with Driver, “We love each other so much,” “I was trapped [her] for weeks. ”She was also stuck in the opening number of the film, “Let’s get started” who was shot in Los Angeles. According to Cotillard, “We shot the film in Europe, but the action of the film takes place in Los Angeles. We were very lucky to be able to … shoot this scene in Los Angeles. The joy was great This is the scene where we are all together singing this scene and [it was] the [last] scene, too. So we are in Los Angeles and we were all singing and celebrating this very special trip together. “
Annette is in theaters now, in addition to playing it on Amazon Prime Video. You can read our review of the film, which we called “the weirdest The star is born never riff ” right here.
