Black widow will be 100% the next film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That certainty flows, however, when you try to guess When it will actually be published.
After multiple delays due to covid-19, the Scarlet Johansson vehicle is currently scheduled for May 7th. And even though Disney has released big theatrical premieres like Soul, Mulan, i Stripe and the last dragon a la Disney + streaming service, any indication is that Black widow will not take this route. It will be a film release.
Unless it is so.
In a new interview, Disney CEO Bob Chapek said the decision on how to release it Black widow, and the rest of the upcoming Disney movies, will be made at the last minute.
“Our situation and our conditions are changing,” Chapek said CNBC (via Limit date). “A few weeks ago, the theaters in New York and Los Angeles were not even open. Now, all of a sudden, they’re open, so we’re looking forward to seeing how future theater-goers respond to these reopenings. We will remain flexible. We’ll probably make the call at the last minute as to how these movies hit the market, either Black widow or any other title “.
Of course, Chapek is right in the cinemas of the two biggest filmsanant markets have begun to open up, albeit with limited capacity. What Disney and other studios will expect is to see if the audience fills these theaters again. That gradually, as covid-19 vaccines continue to be distributed, but there is no way to predict any kind of chronology.
G / O Media may receive a commission
As it develops, Widow and all other films have many options. Disney can only release movies in theaters, only at Disney + (Soul did so but is the least likely option), simultaneously on both platforms with Disney + Premier access (such as the studio did with Mulan i Raya), or they even reflect Paramount’s strategy, which is just the film release, with one turn very faststreaming around. In any case, the latter option sounds like the most plausible for Disney in the summer.
Whenever it opens, you can read it all Black widow here.
