Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, filed a formal complaint with the British station over Piers Morgan’s comments

ITV announced Tuesday that Morgan would leave the show it hosted, “Good Morning Britain,” after questioning whether Meghan had suicidal thoughts, an important revelation from her interview with Oprah Winfrey.

“After discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided that now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain,” ITV said on Tuesday. “ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing else to add.”

CNN understands that Meghan’s complaint to ITV referred to the impact Morgan’s comments could have on other people and how it could degrade the severity of mental health issues. The complaint was not related to the personal nature of Morgan’s attacks.
Piers Morgan was busted by a co-host about Meghan:

In Monday’s edition of “Good Morning Britain,” Morgan wondered if the duchess was truthful about her suicidal thoughts. His comments caused a huge controversy in Britain, and he was reprimanded by Mind, a mental health charity.

British media regulator Ofcom said it had received more than 41,000 complaints about Monday’s edition of “Good Morning Britain” and that it had launched an investigation under its “rules of damages”.

On Wednesday, Morgan said he “still” doesn’t believe Meghan.

“I have had time to reflect on this opinion and I do not have it yet [believe her]”He tweeted Morgan.” If you do, okay. Freedom of speech is a hill on which I am happy to die. Thank you for all the love and hate. I will spend more time with my opinions. “
