When the next movies in the Spiderman. Spider-Man, Venin, i Jumanji the series will hit theaters next year and head to a new streaming house. Variety reports that Netflix has won a nearly two-year auction for exclusive streaming rights in the U.S. of Sony Pictures movie releases, starting in 2022. Yes, MCU fans, that means you can I will see Spider-Man: No Way Home as many times as you want without having to pay an Amazon Prime Video rental or sign up for a Starz subscription.

Because it looks like the United States is one step closer to opening cinema safely across the country, this will not be a setup similar to the one Warner Bros. worked on. and its corporate cousin HBO Max: The Movies will head to Netflix during what the industry refers to as the “pay window” – a period of time that traditionally begins nine months after a theatrical release which has been shortened in recent years due to, thus, situations like this and the one they put Godzilla Vs. Kong on the computer screen last weekend. However, some Sony movies could still be released on Netflix: Variety reports that the studio and the broadcast service have reached a first-rate agreement for any “film produced for the direct broadcast market.”

Library titles are also part of the package, meaning Netflix will license old movies from Sony, Columbia Pictures, Sony Pictures Classics, Screen Gems and TriStar Pictures. Netflix subscribers can expect to see a mix of classics and news from the studio next year, and for a few years later, the deal is expected to last at least five years. That’s two years more than the partnership between Disney and Netflix that was due to begin in 2016, a deal that was slashed after the Disney + announcement.
