People who have already seen Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings i have been giving it good reviews, and every time we see more of the film it becomes more obvious why. Example: this new clip of the Marvel hero bus battle scene.
There’s a lot to love here, probably because that feels like the ultimate Jackie Chan at its best. The way the small confines of the bus dictate a unique struggle, the way star Simu Liu exercises the environment both as a tool (a literal launch pad!) And as a weapon, the impromptu use of his jacket, the comedy of taking a break fighting in the middle to greet a fellow passenger … everything is perfect. It reminds me a lot of Chan Police history i Drunk Master II, two of the great martial arts characters of all time, especially the frantic energy of the fight, which moves at lightning speed.
Sure, Awkwafina is fabulous in every second she has (her expression at the end is priceless), but we all knew it early on. Somehow, this little clip got me more excited about the movie of what the actual trailers have. Strange, but true.
Directed by Just MercyDestin Daniel Cretton, Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings stars Liu as the titular hero i Awkwafina as her friend Katy, as well as superstar Tony Leung as Wenwu, Michelle Yeoh as Ying Nan and Meng’er Zhang as Xialing. In addition, Benedict Wong, Tim Roth and Ben Kingley will reprise their roles Doctor StrangeWong, HulkAbomination, i Iron Man 3faux mandarin Trevor Slattery, respectively. The film opens on September 3, 2021 (but it probably wouldn’t hurt to cross your fingers at this point).
