Fans of the 1991 Joe Johnston Disney Movie The Rocketeer We have been waiting for this news for 30 years: a new live action Rocketeer the film is officially in the works. Is called The return of the climbing wall and is being developed for Disney +.

In accordance with Limit date, David Oyelowo (Selma, Star Wars Rebels) is among the producers and can star in the project, which “will have a new creative directive … focusing on a retired Tuskegee aviator occupying the Rocketeer cloak. ”Sounds like a reboot sequel if you ask me.

Ed Ricourt (Now you see me, capable pines) wrote the script that is produced under the Yoruba Saxon banner, a company run by David and Jessica Oyelowo. Earlier this summer, he signed a deal with Disney for the first time The directorial debut of David Oyelowo, The man of the water, was released.

The Rockeeter originally starred Bill Campbell as a trick pilot named Cliff who happens to be one experimental jet pack in the late 1930s. A jet pack that they are also looking for a group of Nazis, as they believe it will help them take over the world. Thus, the film becomes a very exciting period superhero film, with Cliff defeating the Nazis. It starred Jennifer Connelly, Alan Arkin, Timothy Dalton and Paul Sorvino, and is now on Disney +. If you haven’t seen it or haven’t seen it in a while, it’s still really great.

Watching it even now, the film feels like a franchise start. Therefore, Disney was disappointed when, at launch, it failed to enter even $ 50 million in the United States. Since then, the film has always had a very passionate legion of fans, many of whom are filmmakers and actors, so there have been blips or rumors of Rocketeer projects over the years (there was even a short children’s animated series). This, however, is by far the most promising to date, and fans should thank Disney + and the Oyelowos.
