NBC 5 will sound like the new year in Chicago with big names and special surprises.
The station will air its “Chicago New Year’s Eve” program, hosted by Matthew Rodrigues and Cortney Hall of “Chicago Today,” starting at 11:30 p.m., Dec. 31.
The celebration takes place with the city as a backdrop, recorded from the roof of the LondonHouse Chicago.
To help kick off 2021, several celebrities are making guest appearances, including Carson Kressley and ‘This Is Us’ star Chrissy Metz, who will be offering a special musical performance.
The show also looks at how Chicagoans intensified for each other and for their communities over the past year.
Plus, it wouldn’t be New Year’s Eve without some fun games, including one that tests Chicago’s knowledge of local front-line workers.
The countdown to the New Year will also feature an uplifting performance recorded by the Chicago Children’s Choir.
