Prince Andrew left his father’s funeral behind his new £ 220,000 Bentley

Prince Andrew left the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral on the back of his new £ 220,000 racing green Bentley which he had equipped with custom license plates.

The 61-year-old Duke of York sat in the back of the 200km / h Bentley Flying Spur, which was blue when it was first delivered in September before being spray-painted.

The engine, with its custom license plate, was seen coming out of Windsor Castle on the way to nearby Royal Lodge, the house Andrew shares with 61-year-old ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.

A few hours earlier, Prince Andrew was walking behind his father’s coffin as he drove slowly to St George’s Chapel in Windsor, in the back of a Land Rover hearse.

Inside the chapel, Andrew sat closer to the queen, with the family still separated by countless empty chairs due to the rules of social distancing.

The Duke’s appearance at the funeral came 18 months after he retired from royal duties following his disastrous Newsnight interview about his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein.

This week it was revealed that Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson made regular visits to see the Queen after the death of Prince Philip.

The queen sat alone during the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh on Saturday in tear-jerking images that impacted the nation.

However, members of the royal family have rushed to his side after Philip’s death, led by Andrew and his ex-wife, with sources saying Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex have also spent “a lot of time” giving I support him.

When the queen comes back to life without her 73-year-old husband, she will also stay at Windsor Castle with a “bubble” of 22 staff from the royal house, including some of her closest aides.

It has been revealed today that the Windsor “bubble” will be the only group to join it during its 95th anniversary Wednesday, the first without Philip in seven decades.

Plans will be planned to mark the day with a new portrait of her because she is still in the official period of royal mourning for her beloved husband.

The blatant absence of Prince Philip will be impossible to ignore and the preparation for what should have been a joyous day will be overshadowed by speculation about the most important break-up of his family.

While spectators were encouraged by William and Harry’s conversation in a conversation as they left their grandfather’s funeral on Saturday, sources said there was still a significant distance of reconciliation between the brothers.

Yesterday it was said that Harry would return to Los Angeles very soon after being seen with his brother and sister-in-law Kate for the first time in over a year.

This gives little time to heal open wounds and it is not known if the 36-year-old saw his father Prince Charles out of Saturday’s emotional proceedings.

Kate apparently broke the ice outside St. George’s Chapel talking to Harry, with whom she had once been so close.

As the family group returned from the ceremony, an impromptu decision, as a fleet of state cars had been left behind, was hung up again so that the siblings, separated by Harry and Meghan’s grim decision, to leave royal functions and moving to the US, could speak.

Body language faltered and the exchange seemed to be little more than a polite talk, but it was a start.

Members of the senior family, including the Queen, Charles, William and Harry, spent more than an hour together outside the castle grounds before leaving at 6 p.m.

They were unlikely to have serious discussions, but it was the longest time they spent together as a family since Harry and Meghan left the UK more than a year ago.

Royal sources, however, warned last night that “a swallow does not make the summer” and that the breakup between the two men, especially after the series of painful and very damaging allegations made by the Sussex in her Oprah interview last month continued to be profound.

A privileged person went so far as to suggest that raising him among the brethren might take years to heal, if ever.

And they stressed that there was still widespread anger in the royal family and at home in general over the accusations the couple filed against them, in particular the allegations of racism and that Meghan committed suicide for lack of support.
