The renowned pediatrician Orlando Soler died this Tuesday afternoon in San Pedro Sula, As reported by the President of the Association of Physicians of the Social Security Institute (IHSS) Carlos Umaña.
Soler died due to complications of the covid-19 in the IHSS.
“Another front-line hero leaves us for this cruel disease, the renowned pediatrician Dr. Orlando Soler, our deepest condolences to his family and medical guild,” the anesthesiologist posted on his Twitter account Carlos Umaña.
Nearly ten months after the first positive case of covid-19 was detected in Honduras, health personnel continue to fight in the wards for the Hondurans who have become infected.
At the beginning of the pandemic everything was uncertainty, fear, insecurity and ignorance about the disease in doctors, nurses and other people working in health services, but this fear became a strength and to date has allowed to continue in the halls and not faint, becoming heroes without cloak for those who have managed to beat the virus.
Before the arrival of the new one coronavirus in the country, hospitals that did not have adequate infrastructure began to prepare and train medical and nursing staff who would be at the forefront of care for these patients.
Honduras increased on Monday 390 new cases of covid-19 and recorded 22 more deaths from the disease, bringing the total to 120,103 confirmed infections and 3,088 deaths, the National Risk Management System (Sinager).
