Roussillon told the newspaper of the most tense moments he had to face in the face of protests that arose in the summer of 2019 when the Telegram chat was revealed where he mocked government officials alongside other leaders of his administration.
As the protests progressed, the then governor learned that he had to resign when he was traveling by car with his family, the vehicle fell into a hole in one of the country roads and his youngest daughter, Claudia, thought the they had fired.
“It was obvious he couldn’t protect her,” Roussillon said. “That was the moment when it really came true,” he recounted.
