We can now add the young Supergirl Kryptonian butt-kicker to Warner Media’s ongoing efforts to duplicate (at least!) All the characters on its DC Comics movie and TV lists, with Limit date reporting that Sasha Calle will play a new version of the character in the upcoming Andy Muschietti Flash film. Calle is best known for her role in The young and the restless, where he has appeared for the last 283 episodes or so. (This is “since 2018” in a non-speaking soap opera).
Muschietti posted a video on her Instagram today, showing the moment she revealed to Calle that she had been cast in the piece, and she is, you know, very pretty and sweet. According to reports, Calle was one of more than 400 performers who auditioned for the part (apparently not even knowing what role they were going to play for much of the process); among other things, he read with the film’s star, Ezra Miller, as part of the thorough review process. Calle is the first Latinx actor to play the character, who is currently played by Melissa Benoist on the Arrowverse of the CW show.
Meanwhile, not much is known yet The flash, which has been in development for years without much movement to move forward. The biggest news, of course, was the addition of Michael Keaton’s Batman to the cast, making it clear that the film would likely delve into the DC Comics multiverse. There is also the big part that is intended no go forward; Ray Fisher’s Cyborg originally appeared in the film, but his disagreements with DC Films over an alleged abusive treatment on the set of Justice League has it burned quite well this particular land for now.
