
The last NPD data has revealed that “total sales in dollars for life” of Switch hardware in the United States have now surpassed the Nintendo DS.
Apparently, this makes the system the second “best-selling” Nintendo “platform in history” in the country. The Wii is still in first place. best-selling video games in the United States (no figures provided).
“Total lifetime sales of Switch hardware dollars now surpass the Nintendo DS, making it the second best-selling Switch Nintendo platform in U.S. history (Nintendo Wii ranks first). seventh best-selling hardware platform in US dollar sales “.
Nintendo’s hardware has had the same success over the past month. Mat Piscatella, of NPD, noted that it was also the “best-selling” system of February 2021 (again, no figures were attached).
It has also had the best hardware sales of any platform during the month of February since the Nintendo Wii in 2009:
“Nintendo Switch was the best-selling hardware platform in both units and dollars in February. Nintendo Switch hardware and dollar sales in February were the highest for any hardware platform in a month in February from the Nintendo Wii in February 2009. “
In terms of software, Nintendo has worked just as well, with NPD data revealing the first-hand version Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury it was the best-selling game last month. This improved reissue of Wii U is also the second best-selling game of 2021 so far, just behind the last entry of the Call of Duty series.
