Tennessee Governor: “Something this vaccine won’t fix or cure is selfishness”

While vaccine clearance is a turning point in this pandemic, the reality is that Tennessees are getting sicker, Lee told reporters Thursday.

On Wednesday, the state reported 11,410 new cases, a new record since the start of the pandemic.
The decisions people made during the Thanksgiving holidays are having a serious reality in the statewide hospital system, Lee said.

“One thing this vaccine will not fix or cure is selfishness or indifference to what is happening to our neighbors around us,” he said.

Lee also added that the vaccine is not a cure for stupid decisions about how we meet, nor the refusal to wear a mask and that it will not cure the idea that another person’s decision will not affect another person’s life. .

Tennessee expects 56,550 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine to begin reaching hospitals across the state.

Earlier this week, the State Department of Health announced that it would make the first shipment of 975 doses of the Pfizer vaccine as an emergency backup in the event of a hospital supply being damaged.
