In the five years since Ezra Miller’s The Flash debuted in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, the actor’s solo film has had difficulty getting off the ground. With Andy Muschietti as chairman of the director, production is currently underway in the UK“And Michael Keaton is near the trip.” The wrapper has confirmed that Keaton will reprise his role as Bruce Wayne / Batman The flash, freely based on the Flash point comic arc in which Barry Allen’s time-traveling superhero alter ego involuntarily creates an alternate universe in which Keaton’s Batman has been the hero of Gotham City for the past 30 years. Keaton played director Tim Burton’s famous Dark Knight in 1989 Batman and its sequel, 1992 Batman is back. His casting The flash was first reported last summer, almost at the same time as it was rumored that Ben Affleck’s Batman would appear after Snyder Cut, and with Warner Bros. trying to distance himself from the era of the DC universe, it is unclear whether Affleck is still appearing.

Keaton recently questioned his return from Batman during an interview with Limit date, in which he expressed concern about filming in the UK during the COVID-19 pandemic. These concerns seem to have dissipated in the following weeks when the studio began preparing for production and announced an additional casting: Kiersey Clemons will reprise her role as Iris West (Barry’s love interest) , Ron Livingston has joined to replace Billy Crudup as Barry’s father, and Alfred Molina will reprise his role as Sam Raimi’s Doc Ock Spider-Man 2. Scheduled for a November 2022 release, The flash will also mark the debut of the new Supergirl from the DC universe, played by Sasha Calle.
