Magic: The Gathering Arena, the online multiplayer version of the popular trading card game, released today in early access for certain Android devices via Google Play, with an iOS version coming out later this year. Playing involves a bit of a backstroke, but now it’s even harder to let go.
I played a bit Magic: The Gathering Arena in my Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultraand, although the screen for mobile devices is still small, the game can be played a lot. There is some familiarity with which cards art has, but the expansion of cards is up for grabs. The mobile version features cross-play with the PC version and the two share the same account, so progress continues. The main difference is that it is now much more comfortable to play while using the toilet, driving on the bus, camping in a well-signposted area, or using the toilet on a bus in a camping area. Here is a trailer.
Now let’s see if I can resist the urge to buy an Android tablet before the iPad version drops later this year.
