People with tiny hands for years they have been claiming a smaller smartphone and, by 2020, Apple finally delivered with the iPhone 12 Mini. Unless it looks like Apple may stop making the smallest phone due to less than stellar sales.
Supply chain analyst William Yang of JP Morgan has lowered production expectations for the iPhone 12 Mini by 11 million units, AppleInsider reported. Yang went on to say that Apple could even stop production completely in the second quarter of this year. Yang also revised its expectations of the standard iPhone 12 by 9 million units, while reducing the figures for both the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max by 2 million and 11 million units, respectively. Surprisingly, the iPhone 11 also rose; Yang adjusted its expectations for the flagship of 2019 by 8 million units.
This seems to corroborate recent reports that there is not much demand for iPhone 12 Mini. In early January, Consumer Intelligence Research Partners published a report this said iPhone 12 Mini sales accounted for only 6% of total iPhone sales in October and November. Of course, the 12 Mini only went on sale in November, but so did the 12 Pro Max, which accounted for about 20% of new iPhone sales during that same period. Another recent Nikkei Asia report on the supply chain pointed out that while the 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max exceeded expectations and the iPhone 12 met them, the 12 Mini was “slow”.
There are a lot of the reasons why this might be. For starters, there is iPhone ES. While the SE is a bit larger than the 12 Mini, yes also on the smaller side for a phone and a$ 400, it’s also a lot cheaper than the $ 700 Mini. Another problem is the battery. Its small size means it only packs one 2,227 mAh battery, while the iPhone 12 uses a 2,815 mAh battery and the 12 Pro Max has a 3,687 mAh battery. In the Gizmodo review of the iPhone 12 Mini, the size was right, but the battery life was definitely our most important pain point.

TThe 12 Mini may not sell well, though this doesn’t necessarily mean an eternal destination for lovers of the most compact iPhones. The IPhone Rumors 13 swirl so far we strongly suggest that Apple will stick with the model four lineup this year. Should the Mini line be maintained, Apple may find a way to grab a larger battery or optimize software so fans of small phones can get the iPhone experience they want. without sacrificing battery life. Other than that, there is always the iPhone SE and possible future upgrades along that line. ThereforeDespite this news, there are still some I hope, my tiny friends.
