The latest update of Windows 10 it is not playing well with some printers.
In accordance with Windows Latest, the problem affects Kyocera, Ricoh and Zebra printers. When a user submits a file for printing, instead of actually printing, the entire computer will crash, showing the dreaded blue screen of death along with the error code “APC_INDEX_MISMATCH for win32kfull.sys”.
These types of messages usually appear when there is incompatible hardware or drivers, and in this case they are the last ones. The KB5000802 update makes Windows 10 think that these printer drivers are not installed or linked to real devices. Therefore, if someone tries to print from Word, Notepad, or another program, the PC crashes immediately with a BSOD.
The issue has affected several versions of Windows 10, both client-side and server-side, including: Windows 10 version 20H2, 2004, 1909, 1809, 1803, and Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019 and Windows Server 2019.
Microsoft is aware of the problem, but has not provided a permanent solution at this time, as the company only recently learned of the problem.
“We are currently investigating and will offer an update when more information is available,” the company said in its support page.

A Microsoft employee posted a workaround on sysadmin subreddit, which involves enabling direct printing and applying a solution with the Application Compatibility Toolkit.
Another option is to completely reverse the Windows 10 March 2021 update, but doing so could also jeopardize your computer’s security, as the cumulative update KB5000802 includes some security fixes. However, a Reddit user noted that KB5000802 appears to have been removed. I checked it on my own PC and it seems to be the case, but the cumulative update KB5000808 is still available for Windows 10 version 1909, which can also cause similar issues with the same printer brands.
If you want to uninstall any of these updates, type Windows update on the search bar, click View update history, and then Uninstall updates at the top. A new window will appear and you should see the update listed as Security Update for Microsoft Windows KB5000802 or KB5000808.
