A new PC version of Nier: automata, part of the Become As Gods Edition, just hit the Microsoft store and the Game Pass. I first reports are that, unlike the version available on Steam, this one actually it works.
The original version of the game for Steam on Steam in 2017 was a notoriously poor port, both that fans had to intervene and work on “mods” which fixed things that should have been working at launch, from framerate to resolution issues.
However, as famous as the port, it was the apparent unwillingness of publisher Square Enix to do anything to fix the game, leaving it languishing on the market for years, warts and all, despite The automata critical and commercial success.
That has changed this week with PCs Become As Gods Edition—First released on Xbox in 2018 – that early users report that it is fine, and is therefore likely to be a direct port enhanced Xbox edition, and no … whatever the collection of rat hair and broken glass from the original PC version.

This PC version of Become a god is available on Game Pass, but also directly in the Microsoft Store if you read this in the future and it will be removed from the subscription service.
Note: Although it appears to be a higher version than the original, there are still things present (such as an fps limit) that the FAR mod can correct or improve, so if you still want to check it out (or see if it works with this version, maybe not!), you can find it here.
