Investing $ 329 in a pair of wireless headphones isn’t a small investment and, as easily pocketable as Apple’s AirPods Pro, they’re also very easy to lose. Instead of immediately throwing away your bags and tearing your home apart in search of them, Spigen now offers a less frightening solution: a protective case for the AirPods Pro with a built-in slot for an easy-to-find AirTag tracker.
Badly placed headphones are a problem that affects wireless headphones from countless manufacturers, not just Apple. Companies like Nothing have come up with solutions such as remotely triggering a high pitched tone ear (1) headphones by themselves, but this requires them to be within earshot to locate them. If they disappear while you’re out, you probably won’t see them again. Since AirPods and AirPods Pro have long been upgraded, Apple may be incorporating new tracking features directly into future versions of its wireless headphones, but that doesn’t help the millions of pairs that are already passing MIA temporarily daily .
For those who are not interested when pasting or sticking an AirTag tracker to the charging box of your AirPods Pro, Spigen’s Apple AirPods Pro Tag Armor Duo is a slightly less ugly solution. The $ 35 plastic case adds a little extra volume to the headphone case, especially in front where an added AirTag tracker protrudes quite a bit, but it will protect them from drops and allow them to be located quickly using the Find My d app ‘Apple, whether they’re trapped between sofa cushions or dropped into a park miles away.
Considering everything, it’s a $ 64 upgrade to AirPods Pro that’s not cheap, but it’s cheaper than having to replace them altogether, something AppleCare doesn’t cover. The case of Spigen, however, is not a perfect solution. If a single headset falls off and disappears while you run out, an AirTag in the charging box won’t be of much help in tracking it down. If you’re especially bad at losing things, you may want to consider one cheapest pair of wireless headphones, which, at this time, it can actually sound much better than the aging AirPods.
