It brings a new meaning to “Playboy Bunny”.
A former Playboy model and famed rabbit breeder is offering the equivalent of $ 1,300 for the return of his world-record bunny, which was stolen from his Worcestershire home over the weekend.
“It simply came to our notice then. The Guinness World Record has been stolen from Darius from his home ” tweeted the British Annette Edwards of its 10-year-old continental rabbit, which at 4 feet 4 inches long holds the Guinness World Record for the longest rabbit in the world.
“The police are doing everything possible to find out who took him. There is a £ 1,000 reward, ”Edwards added.
The identity of the rabbit thieves is still unclear.
The theft is a heartbreaking blow for the 68-year-old mother and 68-year-old former glamor model, who has held the world record since 2008 with four of her animals winning the title, the Daily Mail reported.
And while Darius currently has the colossal cotton-tailed crown, he is expected to be eclipsed by his descendants, Lewis and Daisy May, who are already more than 4 feet long.
Unfortunately, the 35-pound Darius is too old to breed now, but its larger-sized offspring sold for nearly $ 350.
Raising such a huge hare is no feat. Edwards spends nearly $ 7,000 feeding his monstrous bunnies the carrots and apples needed to maintain his massive size. She says the secret to making them great is to make sure parents are huge and don’t believe in themselves.
Edwards is so in love with bunnies that she has struggled to become one: she apparently dropped more than $ 13,500 on cheek implants, chin implants and breast lift in an effort to look like Jessica Rabbit, the cartoon sexpot of “Who Framed Roger Rabbit.”
A West Mercia police spokesman confirmed to the Daily Mail that he was investigating the rabbit theft: “We are appealing for information following the theft of an award-winning rabbit from his home in Stoulton, Worcestershire,” he told l official agency Daren Riley. “It is believed that the continental giant rabbit was stolen from its enclosure in the garden of its owners’ property during the night of Saturday, April 10 to April 11.”
Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time a tragedy has happened to one of Edwards ’beloved bunnies. In 2017, Darius ’son Simon, who was then predicted to become the world’s largest rabbit, mysteriously died during a United Airlines flight from London to U.S. customers.
The flight company went in after burning the 3-foot-long rabbit without the owner’s permission, prompting suspicion that they were hiding something.
“Everything stinks of a cover-up,” smoked the mad breeder of the time, adding that “she has sent rabbits all over the world and nothing like this has happened before.”
United Airlines was later sued by potential buyers of Simon in Iowa.
