Towson University shooting: Three people, including a student, suffer life-threatening injuries

One of the injured is a female student at Towson University, the school’s Public Safety Office reported in an update Saturday morning. She was treated at a local hospital and is now in stable condition. The other two victims are not affiliated with the university.

The three victims “were part of a rally of people in the area of ​​Freedom Square,” according to the statement, which states that “the rally was not organized or sanctioned by the university or by a student organization of TU.” .

“The Towson University Public Safety Office and the Baltimore County Police Department have been working diligently together since then to identify and arrest those responsible for the shooting, as well as those who illegally violated the campus, ”Schatzel said. “We remain determined to make the safety of our community and campus our top priority.”

Schatzel visited the injured student and his family at the hospital, he said, and the student “was in a good mood.”

Towson University will make counseling and support services available to students, and residence staff will be on hand to “provide assistance to residential students,” a Twitter post said.
