Twitter permanently bans the CEO of My Pillow

Twitter has permanently banned the account of My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell after continually perpetuating the baseless claim that Donald Trump won the 2020 U.S. presidential election

Twitter decided to ban Lindell, who founded the bedding company My Pillow, because of “repeated violations” of its civic integrity policy, a spokesman said in a statement. The policy was implemented last September and aims to combat misinformation.

Big retailers like Bed Bath & Beyond and Kohl’s have said they would stop bringing My Pillow products, Lindell said earlier.

Lindell also faces possible litigation from Dominion Voting Systems to claim that its voting machines played a role in alleged election fraud. He had also urged Trump to declare martial law in Minnesota to get his ballots and cancel the election.

Following the U.S. Capitol assault earlier this month, Twitter has banned more than 70,000 accounts from sharing misinformation. Trump, who had urged the crowd, has also suspended his account permanently.
